Sweden

In Feburary we will visit the school in Sweden for a few days. We will meet the students and teachers there and want to talk about our project. Furthermore we got some activities we are going to do, like building ice skulptures and go ice fishing.
The school in Sweden is in Kalix, it’s position is marked on the picture below.

Water is the topic we will go after to find out how it affects the environment and what can be done to save fresh water.

• Trip to Sweden18 Feb 2020

  In the following two years 96 students from Sweden, Estonia, Spain and Germany, are going to meet in the four different countries with the Erasmus+ project „Go green, Europe!“. The participants also communicate via a digital platform to develop Europe further and to bring together many ideas on protecting the environment.

  The first visit took place in Kalix, Sweden from February 9th to February 14th.

  Eight German participants started their journey at the train station in Gelnhausen at 8:30 am to catch their flight to Luleå on time. During their short stop in Stockholm they already met the Spanish students. At 10 pm the German and Spanish students arrived in Kalix where they were picked up by their hosts.

  The next morning, some Swedish teachers and the municipal commissioner welcomed them to Kalix. Because of a delay of their flight the Estonians had to stay in Stockholm over night and joined the other participants at 11:30 am.
  After a short tour through the school the students learned some Swedish. In the afternoon, the students were divided into international groups to create drafts for the logo of the Erasmus project. Later, all 96 participants voted for their favourite logo on the internet.
  In the evening, all students and teachers were invited to a welcoming dinner where they were able to try some great Swedish dishes like Salmon and Hjortron.

  Tuesday started with a trip to the „Billerud“ paper mill where the participants were informed about the use of water in the factory. There they also tested some water samples they brought from their home cities.

  Back in Kalix the students collected some ideas for the snow sculptures they would build the next day. 

  On Wednesday they created eight snow sculptures with the motto „sustainability“ in the city of Kalix to catch the inhabitants‘ attention.

  In the evening the whole group met at the bowling center to spend the evening together. 

  On Thursday all students and teachers went to the lake „Bjumisträsk“ to go ice fishing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. There was also made a little fire to grill some food.

  In the afternoon the students had free time they used for different activities like ice skating or visiting Luleå. 

  Friday was the day of departure so that everyone came together at 7:30 am to say goodbye and to start their way back home.
  They are already looking forward to tell the other participants of their countries about their time in Sweden. 

  The journey was a time of adventures, meeting many people from Europe and making new experiences which they will remember for lifetime.
  They are already excited to welcome some other participants in Germany in november 2020.

• Start to work on topic WATER7 Dec 2019

  We finally started to work on the topics connected to the four countries. The topic WATER is the first to work on because students from all four countries will first meet in sweden in February.
